My name is Cary Nicolo, known in the industry as Cary Keyz. As utility musician with nearly 3 decades of experience, I play Keyboards, Bass, Rhythm Guitar, Mandolin, and Bass Pedals. I also sing background vocals as well as lead. Throughout the 90’s and early 2000’s I have played in every major club throughout the NY/ CT/ NJ (tri-state) area. I've played clubs like CBGB's, The Bitter End, from Macdougal St and beyond ! My musical genres are everything from 50-s to current Rock/POP, Variety Band, Party & Classic Rock, Funk, R&B, Country and more.
In 2010 I moved to Jupiter Florida. I’ve played in numerous cover bands, wedding bands, duos, trios and tribute bands. The latest bands that I am playing with is CLASSIC ALBUMS LIVE The band plays note for note, cut for cut of the best classic Albums. THE LATITUDES BAND is a new project that plays Tropical Rock, Reggae and Funk! With too many country bands in Florida, it was a no-brainer to put this band together! Some other bands that I've played with are The Brass Evolution which plays a ton of Chicago, Steely Dan, Blood Sweat & Tears and other great horn based funk and soul. SHAKEDOWN is a Corporate Wedding band, KEEP THE FAITH is Florida's #1 Bon Jovi Tribute. I've also played in different tribute bands from Bon Jovi, Bruce Springsteen, Rod Stewart, Foreigner, Fleetwood Mac and others.
I am available for sub gigs or fly- outs and tours. I have a passport and can travel. I also write instrumental music for videos and websites. For more information please click on "CONTACT" and get in touch with me.
I’ve been playing music as long as I can remember. At 8 years old I picked up the guitar and began learning Beatles songs by ear. At 12 I began playing the piano, studying classical and jazz piano throughout high school and later in college at SUNY at Oswego.
I recently discovered that my musical ability is in my DNA. Although I was adopted, through an Ancestry DNA test I learned that my biological father was also a musician. My dad, Joseph Nicolo, was the lead vocalist and guitar player for the New Glenn Miller Orchestra (under the direction of Buddy DeFranco) from 1967-1974. My dad was a multi- instrumentalist as well. He was often called by Buddy Rich himself to do shows in NYC. Buddy loved Joe’s jazz skills and the sound from his custom made D’ Angelico Guitars.
Being a multi-instrumentalist (Keyboards, Bass, Vocals, Rhythm Guitar, Mandolin, and Bass Pedals) enabled me to perform the role of John Paul Jones in several touring Led Zeppelin Tributes. Over the years I have also played in tribute bands of Aerosmith, U2, Rod Stewart, Bon Jovi, Foreigner, Fleetwood Mac, and Bruce Springsteen to name a few. My main instrument is keyboards, but I can also fill other spots as well, Please go to my "Contact " page to get more information about me.
